On Outlook 2011 when I create an email, as normal, the Autofill/ Auto complete for To: or CC: fields no longer pop down like it used to. They now flicker for a split second. The exact same applies on a website when completing an online form. Plse Help.

And lastly on a simple word document, I can no longer hclick and drag to higlight a sentance using my mouse. Any help is really appreciated. I dont know where to turn. Thank you

Thanks Silvergc for your response. Indeed its frustrating to say the least. Yes I have Office 2011 14.3.5 and Mountain lion 10.8.4 ( Both current) Mouse is 100% As mentioned in email as an example, when typing recipients name autofill/complete fails. Its flashes only. Im sure its a virus? Also online forms same behaviour, and lastly highlighting in word. ( i can highlight in an email body) Thanks Silvergc

You can also try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolating an issue by using another user account

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Hi Eric, I Rebooted in safe mode, and held down the shift key. Sadly my laptop is now lagging ( Especially on the desktop) Maybe it will get quicker after some time. Also the email autocomplete still does not drop down and stay down. This is quite hectic.Any other tips possibly? Again appreciate your time. I also signed out of my user name, and resignined in under Guest. In guest profile, I dont have outlook, only Macmail, nor google chrome, so could not test the problem. I suspect its typical of microsoft no doubt.
