I installed outlook 2010 on a Mac and set up the email account. When I added the email account to my iphone my outlook stopped working. Gave me the error "Trying to get mailbox lock from process". I deleted my iphone account and my outlook email worked

Thanks for the question. It sounds like your account may have been setup using POP, see the following article:
iOS: 'Mailbox Locked', account is in use on another device, or prompt to re-enter POP3 password
