Is there any way possible to find my stolen iPads by using the serial numbers and not the cheesy find my lost iphone/pad app. Just turn off wifi, reset the ipad with a hard reset and no more tracker. Dissapointing since I paid $700 for it.

No, the Find My iPad service provided by Apple is the only way to track an iPad absent some third-party tracking service which would as easily be removed. Resetting an iPad does not remove Find My iPad, though; that would require restoring, assuming that your iPad had a screenlock passcode.

Find My iPad is not intended nor advertised as an anti-theft service but rather for locating a lost device. iOS 7 will bring some additional features that will make it more difficult for a thief to turn off the service, but it will still not be a complete protection against theft.

There is no way to track an Apple product except by doing it yourself using the Find My function in iCloud. Devices cannot be tracked by serial number or IMEI number. Apple does not get involved in any such tracking.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.

Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.
