What does incoming and outgoing host name mean?

I am trying to set up my work email account but I do not know who my incoming and outgoing mail server are. Is the incoming mail server my home email and outgoing my work email?

iPad 2, iOS 6.1.4

No. Every email system has two servers, one for incoming mail and one for outgoing mail. If the identification of these servers is not obvious, you should contact the email supplier.

Each email address should have an incoming server (for reading incoming mail) and an outgoing server (for sending outgoing mail).

The IT people at work should supply the server information for your work email. (That's assuming that company policy allows handling company email on employee-provided computers.)
