We've seen this before:

... but don't have a solution (that i know of). Try what's in the threads I linked -- but first I suggest booting into Safe Mode and then rebooting. This usually clears problems like this (though it may not prevent them from recurring).

That does not look good - I have seen this problem only twice during the last year:

See:

weird aperture artifact

I'd start by checking, if you are seeing the same, when working from a different user account:

See this support article: Isolating an issue by using another user account

If you can export from a different account without problems, that would confirm that preferences and other items in your account need fixing, and I'd start by removing user preferences, see:

Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics on how to do this (the paragraph on deleting the user preferences)

Kirby and Ernie, your post were again not showing, until I answered!

I created a test user, and yes the export works fine.

o.k., so it is something in your account that is causing this.

no luck 😟

Does this refer to removing the preferences?

Have you logged on and off after removing the preferences? The Trouble-shooting basic do not explicitely mention that this is necessary.

If you did not do that, repeat the removal of preferences after logging off and on again.

And if they exist, delete

  • ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Aperture
  • ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Aperture

Do you have custom Export presets? Then remove

~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Export Presets.plist as well to the Desktop.

Search systematically, which of your .plists is causing the trouble.

  • Remove again all .plists, then put back only half of them.
  • Does the problem return?
    • If yes, remove half of the recently added .plists.
    • If not, add half of the preferences not yet put back.
  • Continue splitting the set of loops not yet added in halves, until you hit the culprit.

My guess is, that one of the preferences related to the Finder might be doing this -

com.apple.recentitems.plist

com.apple.sidebarlists.plist

com.apple.finder.plist

I spent the whole day removing and putting back 460+ plist files, removing the 3 below plist together from ~/Library/Prefrences fixed the problem.

  • MobileMeAccounts.plist
  • loginwindow.plist
  • com.apple.SetupAssistant.plist

I will monitor for few days and update this threat if the problem occurred again.

Thank you every one for the help
