My MacBookpro won't open Internet.

My MacBookpro won't connect to the Internet. It is running on10.7.5. When I open system preferences it tells me that I have no ip address. My ipad works just fine and so does my sister's PC.HELP!!!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
