I do not see the "send iTunes gift option under the quick links in my iTunes. I tried it from my mac book pro (itunes v. 11.0.4 (4)). Help? I don't live in the US so I am not sure if that might be the reason??
I'd like to send a gift card with an amount for my niece's birthday and I'd like her to receive the code via e-mail instead of in the mail.

I also tried it from my Ipad 2 and dont see the send gift button only my apple ID and a redeem buttom in the ipad app store
Not all countries offer sending of gift certificates. What country are you in?
The gift option has disappeared for me as well (both on PC, iPhone and iPad, iTunes 11 and IOS6). The gift option waas working a couple of months ago, but is gone now. I'm in Finland. I hope they haven't removed the gift option!
Same issue here, can't find it. im using Saudi Store.
finally i found it, its a feature in the new itunes that does not show it when you already signed in,
all what you need to do is to sign out, and you will find the option under quicklinks, and you will be asked to sign in as a part of gifting steps.
