How do I download HD movies using iTunes on PC that itunes rejects HD playback?

Im just wanting to download and serve the movies to apple tv using home sharing. Yet iTunes refuses to download my HD movies because the PC is incapable of playing them (it lacks any video hardware). I have no intention on PLAYING the darn thing on my PC, is there not a "download anyway" option?

I had the problem too.

This is how I fixed it: if you have an HD compatible iDevice (anything Apple), purchase the movie using that, but leave it to download later. Then go to iTunes on your PC and go to Purchased Movies. You can download there in HD. This worked for me, so it should work for you.

i know this is late, but go to the itunes store on your computer. click on movies. then purchase (on the right side after you scroll down). it'll show your movies to download from the cloud (or other movies) then on the right bottom it says download hd when available... make sure that is unchecked! and it worked and downloading my movies!! hope this helps
