My iPhone 4S keeps restarting. At first, it wouldn't lock so I let the battery wear all the way down. It recharged, but then started prompting to power down as though I had was pressing and holding down the power button. I would hit "cancel" to return to whatever I was doing but the power down message would keep reappearing. I tried resetting it and now the white apple icon just keeps appearing and disappearing every few seconds. I'm running OS6.
Try a hard reset:
- hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
- the phone will turn off but when the apple logo appears release both buttons
If the issue remains you would need to try and back up and restore your iPhone. Follow the articles below to do this:

Thanks. Oddly, while it was performing a backup to iCloud in preparation to restore, it stopped trying to restart itself and has been back to normal for about 10 minutes now. Not sure if the problem will recur, but, for now, it seems to be okay. Maybe the resetting process was just slow to take effect? Dunno, but glad it seems to be fixed! 😀
