I purchased an album today and as usual I like to amend the genre to what suits my library but I noticed that when I play the track iTunes is setting it back to what it was from the store - never seen this before.
Anyone know why or if there is a work around?

Very annoying!
Just downloaded a single album that actually has 3 operas on it. Have changed all the metadata in iTunes so it appears as 3 separate albums by the one artist - synced with my iPhone but on the iPhone it still appears as one album with tracks from the 3 operas all mixed up - so I can't play them in order!
Anyone any ideas on how to stop iPhone from taking on iTunes Store metadata and using my own metadata?

I'm using 11.1.1 of iTunes and it's allowing me to use my own metadata now

I have had this reverting metadata problem on iTunes purchases. It only happens on some cases but it eventually sticks, maybe after a few changes.
The changes are very slow in filtering trough to my ipad but they eventually get there.

Am running 11.1.2 and it's still happening.
Think I'll re-post this on it's own thread as I think our problem is slightly different inasmuch as iTunes is showing the albums how I want, but the synced iPhone isn't.
I've got exactly the same problem. Metadata that I change in iTunes stays "in Place" but when I synch to my iPhone it displays the original matadata as it was in the iTunes Store. Very annoying...
