Error 100 in AppStore

Hello All,

I have just bought a new iMAC (27'') with OS X 10.8.4 operating system.

I created my Apple account and tried to purchase Final Cut Pro from App Store after I provided my credit card details &stuff.

When I pressed Buy App, I got the following error message: "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (100)" . After pressing on inthe error message pop-up : "Your Purchase could not be completed"

I started to search the internet and I came across this well known problem. However, no matter what I have tried, it did not work.

1- deleted the files in Caches , restart, relogin

2 - log out of Appstore, log in back

3 - log out app store and itunes, close both, re-log-in

4- log out appstore and itunes, close them, restart log in back

5- open itunes and purchase something then try purchasing in appstore (it worked to purchase some music in itunes but no succes with FCP in appstore)

6 - downloaded some operating system updates and accepted the terms and conditions

I kept reading that the cause is the fact the user needs to accept the terms and conditions by downloading a free application in app store or itunes.

I was not able to find an application that would prompt me up to accept the terms and conditions..... Any help on this ? All apps are automatically downloaded and placed into Launchpad.

Thank you very much in advance!

Br,

Stefan

Hi Hackint0sh

The error you are referring via that link I think it is different than mine.

And it is definetely fixed with just restarting imac / resetting the bank card details.

I submitted a ticket to itunes support and they endded up saying that there is nothing iTunes Store Billing department could do. And thus they would ask me to address my issue to Apple Care.

I called Apple care (0018002752273) and i gor over an Indian guy that had no idea. He checked my Apple ID and when I suggested tat FCP x and compressor and motion 5 could not be purchased from my Romanian App store (as i am in Romania) he grabbed on that idea and concluded that he cannot do anything for me !

What the ****!?!?! Then who could?!?

The crucial aspect here is that I am in Romania. I have a bank card that I could use for purchasing music from Itunes and other piece of sofware (like a Romanian dictionary) from App Store. However, I am not able to purchase FCPx.

I could try to create a US Apple ID but then I do not have a credit card issued by a US bank.....

I am thinking of returning the iMac as I payed 2500 euros and I am able to work only with FCP x - trial version, so far.... and no perspectives of having my problem fixed.

Regards....

hi,

i seem to have the same problem. I recently bought a new iMAC (27'') with OS X 10.8.4 operating system aswell.

I bought it specially for video editing with final cut. I have tried everything i could find on internet, but i still get "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (100)" all the time.

The only difference i got is that i used "click and buy" as payment. But from what i read (and think) it looks like the problem is has to do with something else than the payment options.
Isn't there any official statement of apple about this issue? If there wont be any solution any time soon, i would probably start thinking about returning my imac aswell.

Greetings,

Gaston

ah! Its working now!

I did send a message to the apple support,

and i did get a respons from a very helpfull guy.

He told me that they had to make " the necessary adjustments to my account".

and since than i had no more problems downloading at all.

So i guess the error 100 problem isn't always solved by restarting app store, remove folders etc...

but sometimes it can be something that needs to be changed in your account by the mac app store crew.

Greetings,

Gaston

Hi Gaston,

I am glad for you !

I also talked with a nice guy from iTunes Billing support but he could do nothing - whatever twieacks he did had no effect on my problem. He redirected me to Apple Care.

So, I am still with that problem..... and it seems nobody can help me.

Apple will definitely not be an option when it comes to future purchases.

On July 28, I bought a new Macbook air specifically to use with Final Cut Pro X.

Unfortunately, I was unable to purchase Final Cut Pro X because of the dreaded Error 100 in the app store.

Strangely, the account that generates this error works fine on an iPad and an iPhone.

On Sunday night, I tried to find a solution on the apple discussion forums.

On Monday night, I verfied my credit card was still valid, purchased an cheap app from iPhone to confirm, and tried several rebooting, logging out, in, making a new user account but it still didn't fix it.

On Monday, I spent about 2 hours on the phone with tech support person, a senior tech support person, and someone else who reset something related to my iTunes account. We tried every fix posted on these forums except for re-installing the operating system.

So far, nothing has worked. I wound up returning the laptop because none of the software fixes fixed anything.
