I turned airplay on, do not have an onscreen code so I turned it off, do not want to use a password. What do I do next to connect appletv and my apple macpro?

In an attempt to connect my macbook pro and appletv to play gaiam tv, I turned on airplay, turned off the code on my tv as it had no code and opted to not have a passwork. What do I do next to connect my laptop to my tv so I can play Gaiam tv?

MacBook Pro, iOS 6.0.2

Mirroring requires a recent Mac (2011 or later) running Mountain Lion (10.8). Ensure you meet the requirements
