Hiding Gmail's "all mail" folder in Mail

I know how to disable IMAP folders in Gmail, but I'd like to keep it enabled (so that I can use Mailbox on my iPhone), whilst not having it show in Mail.

I did manage to do this once, but I changed my Mail settings, and can't figure out how to do it, nor can I find anything by googling.

Can anyone advise?

Thank you.

The "all mail" folder is where Google stores all mail.

For Mailbox app to work, it needs this folder to be enabled for IMAP, which means it shows up in Apple Mail, too.

I can do what you suggest, of course, but when new mail comes in, it shows up with a badge in both the In-box, and in the Gmail folder, which is annoying.

And, I know I once figured out how to do this, but I can't remember how, nor where I found the hint.

Sorry what is Mailbox app? Never heard of it. Or do you mean Mac Mail, the built in Email program?

I don't use Mac Mail, I use Outlook, and in Outlook I can hide the All Mail in IMAP and all it does in Outlook is removes that entry. All mail is still on the Gmail website and it has never stopped me from getting or seeing new emails.

Actually whether you show or hide all mail in IMAP or on the Gmail website the All Mail folder is still there. It just isn't Shown.
