Q: just to confirm, is it correct that I cannot print from my iPad Retina Display to a networked HP OfficeJet Pro L7580?

I would like to connect my iPad retina display to my WiFi networked HP OfficeJet Pro L7580. From the Airport discussions and specs it looks like this cannot be done. Is this correct or is there a solution. The iPad works great with on the WiFi network to which the printer is connected.

If you have another Mac computer on the network, it might be worth it to try an App like Printopia to see if that will allow the iPad to print to the HP device.

There is a free trial, so you will know in a few minutes whether or not this might work.

AirPrint (direct via iOS devices) does not work with a printer which is not "AirPrint" compatible, even if the printer is connected to WiFi.
