why does transitions stop in the middle of imove

Help/ I am still working with imovie 9 .. I am working on a project and in the middle the pictures and transitions stopped working. any idea why. I have tried deleting the photos and and transistions and re entering them but it doesn't hlep...

I am on a dead line...help
