will i lose all my pictures and contacts during a rest? will a reset get rid of my old email/apple Id for which i dont have the password for?

I broke my HTC and now using my old Iphone 3GS. It has an old email adress and password that i cant remember. Ive tried everything and no luck. so the question is ... Will a Reset get rid of my old info? And will i lose my Contacts / Photos / and anything else i might not know? will a back up put Contacts/Photos ect. back in without putting in my old info? thanks for your help
