Hi, I have several Finalcut Pro (version 7.0.3) files that I need to work on to make mov files. I do have Pro X but my projects don't open with this version. I was wondering if there was a solution to this? I wasn't able to find a trial of version 7.0.3 unfortunately. I found a trial version of Final Cut Express but I need to first know if my original files will even open up with it.

Do you have 7.0.3? There is a utility that will convert FCP6 and 7 projects to FCPX, but you need an export XML file from the legacy application. The utility is called 7toX.

AFAIK, there wasn't ever a trial version of Final Cut Pro7 or Final Cut Express availabe. Anyway, a FCP7 project can't be opened in FCE. So unless you purchase a copy somewhere of Final Cut Studio 3, Tom Wolsky's 7toX suggestion would seem to be your best (and certainly cheapest) solution.
