FTP login using Safari or Web Browser?

i have a couple of ftp accounts that i access with Transmit now that i am on the mac and i would like to be able to tell people who may not use transmit how to login to these accounts.

is there a way for some using Safari (for instance) to LOGIN to my ftp account if i give them a user name and a password?

i mean, i just tried "myftpname@mydomainname.com" and this gives me an error in safari.

anyone know the 411 on this?
