iPhoto Photo Stream

Hi, I am attempting to share photos in my Photo Stream with other people, using the information in this knowledge base article:

http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11956

Needless to say, it doesn't work.

In step #2, I can't do either of the two steps. I have made sure that my photos are present both in my iPhoto Library and my Photo Stream. However, the Photo Stream is only showing in the Recent section of my Sources list, not in the Web section.

When I try to drag photos to the Photo Stream into the Source list, I do not get a New Photo Stream option, just a dialog box that says my selected photo is already in the Photo Stream.

When I click the Share button with photos selected in my iPhoto Library, either in the Share menu or the Share button in the bottom-right hand corner, I get the same dialog as previous. With the photo selected in the Photo Stream (under Recent), of course the Share option is grayed out.

I am running iPhoto '11 (9.4.3).

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), 1,1 | 14GB RAM | Radeon 5770

To create a shared PhotoStream you need Mt Lion version 10.8.2 or later

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4379?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

You can create Shared Photo Streams with:

  • an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iOS 6
  • a Mac using OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 with Photo 9.4 or later or Aperture 3.4 or later
  • a PC using Windows 8, Windows 7, or Vista with the iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later installed. (iCloud Control Panel 2.1 required with Windows 8.)
