Viewing old trash emails

Hi... Got my first iMac in December, and set email trash to be stored on the server and never deleted. Why is it that I can only ever find emails from the last month? How I can I view all past emails? Appreciate any advice. Thanks, John

Who is your email provider? Is it possible that it is set to archive messages after a month of being in the trash? Check the webmail site for your provider and make sure this isn't the case in settings. If so, they may be in an archive folder at the site.

If it's an IMAP account, there may be an archive folder under the IMAP account in the sidebar.

Also, check any other devices you may have such as an iPhone or iPad and make sure those settings are also not set to delete messages after a month.

Thanks Glenn... I'm using the default mail provider of Mail 6.5 with an address of '@icloud.com'. I've accessed my mail via iCloud usinf Safari and can only see the last month there as well (so nothing before 08 June). I've checked the settings in iCloud but there's nothing there about how long to keep messages... WAIT A MINUTE!

In the iCloud settings under the 'General' tab the default is to 'Move deleted messages' to 'Trash". Under that there's a little grey note stating 'Messags will be deleted from Trash after 30 days'. Looking in help, this deletion is permanent, but it then goes on to say you can choose to save in another folder as an alternative. So I've added a 'Storage' folder and returned to the settings to have deleted emails saved in that folder. Thus, they will no longer be deleted after 30 days.

Hurrah! ~;O)))))
