I haven't charged my iPod touch for months and it won't turn on :(?

So I have an iPod touch 4th gen 32GB and I haven't used or charged it since about 4 months ago. Now, I charge it but it still won't turn on :( It only shows a pic of battery with a caution sign and an apple logo appears for another seconds. It keeps repeating on and on. What should I do to get it back on?

Try to use authentic Apple charger. My iPhone 5S sat for a year without charge and it didn't turn on when I used a charger I bought from Amazon. However, it shows charging sign right away when I used the authentic Apple charger.

Make sure to charge it from the wall charger, not a computer USB port. Leave it for awhile (30minutes or more) and see if it turns on.

If it does not, and the low battery warning does not disappear, you have a dead battery. Lithium batteries do not last long when left in an idle state like that for long periods like that. Especially if it drained below the minimum safe level (normally, the point where it would automatically shutdown to perserve a minimum safe charge), then it is almost certainly shot. If it has degraded because of that, there is nothing you can do to recover it - a lithium cell will not recover from that.

Apple has a battery replacement program - http://www.apple.com/batteries/replacements.html

After charing overnight try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- Try on another computer

- If not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Not Charge

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
