accidentally removed pics from iphoto with mackeeper. anyway to restore pics in original albums?

i was using the disk usage scan on mackeeper and saw that my pictures were taking up a lot of space. i meant to just click photo booth to remove its photos, but i must have not noticed that iphoto was also slelected; thus ALL of my photos, albums and files that were stored in iPhoto are gone. My iPhoto is completely empty - and it looks as if i have never used it before. is there any way to reverse this and restore all of my photos, albums and files that were saved/stored in iPhoto?! I am trying to the recovery files option on mackeeper and have clicked to restore images but it says it will take 7+ hours and the live chat helper believes that image files will be restored but not organized into the original albums ....unfortunately, I am in N. Ireland and my external harddrive with the backup files is in the States - and I will not be returning anytime in the near future! 😟 I would really like a "quick, easy" fix to restore all of my photos, and to have them organized in their albums. Any suggestions?

Is there any way to reverse or undo the "removal" process under Disk Usage in MacKeeper - or a way to reverse/undo emptying the trash?

Below, I have copied the Log Files from MacKeeper.log to help spell out what I did by accident - In the case that it may help finding a resolution to reversing the mistake:

Jackie,

MacKeeper did a really thorough stop. It did not only remove the photos from your iPhoto Library, it deleted all database files, the iPhoto application, all cached preference files and setup files. All information about events, albums, ratings, captions that is stored in the iPhoto Library is gone.

/Applications/iPhoto.app

Wait, till you can access your backup drive at home, unless someone at your home can mount it and share it for you on a computer that you can access via internet.

I am sure, the recovery software you are running will be able to restore many of your photos, i.e. if you do nothing with your computer that may write to disk. But this will give you mainly an unstructured collection of image files and all your library organization will have to be recreated manually.

I am using a disk recover software at the moment and should have file recovered over the next day or so

Which recovery software are you using? They are usually pretty good at extracting image files and audio files.

.do you suggest a different one?

I have used Disk Drill - it found nearly all image files and audio files - at least the jpegs. Wait, what your program will turn up. The less you use your mac right now, the more you will be able to recover. Remember, the files you deleted from the Trash are now considered to be free space on your drive, and every time your computer writes something to the disk, it may erase a part of an image file.

You seem to keep asking for MacKeeper support - you need to get that from them - no experianced users here would touch it do to the problems it causes

As to your bakcup - only you knwo how your are backing up - based on your original post It sounds like you are not backing up adn onlyhave an old backup far away

I thpought my response was clear and concise - either restore a backup or use file recovery and start over with a new library - after getting MacKeeper off your system

Sorry - but using rogue software (many consider it Malware) like MacKeeper is dangerous - doing it without a good current backup is a recipie for disaster - which I'm afraid you have
