MacBook Pro not opening.

Hi,

Since this morning, my MacBook Pro doesn't open anymore. When I press the power button, I can hear the motor starting, but then immediately stops.

What could be the problem?

Is my work on my computer safe?

Your HDD may still be operational. You will have to take it out, put it in an enclosure and attach it to another Mac to find out.

Went to Apple Store. Looks like dead motherboard. $800 of repairs + one week of waiting. 😕
