WHY DO I HAVE TO ENTER PASSWORD INTO MY OWN WIFI AT HOME

why do i have to enter a password each time for my own wifi connection. i was told that my wifi would recognize my ipone without having to manually connect. is there a setting that i missed.

If your router still has its default SSID (such as "linksys" or "netgear") you need to change it to something unique. The reason is that as you travel with your phone it sees other networks with the same name, so when you get home it can't distinguish your home network from the others it has encountered.
