Why doesn't my iMAC recognize my Nikon D7000 digital camera?

Hi, any ideas on why my new iMAC does not recognize my Nikon D7000 digital camera? It used to recognize it and download all the photos to iPhoto, but as soon as I downloaded the software for a Canon DSLR camera, the iMAC will no longer recognize my Nikon. Is it able to recognize only one camera?

Sounds more like the Canon software is interfering with things.

Try this - connect your D7000 via USB. Turn on the camera. Open Image Capture (not iPhoto). See if it recognizes your D7000 (it should be listed under Devices).
