Q: stuck on a backup screen and the phone will not unlock

icloud backup---This phone hasnt been backed up for 6 weeks.....etc. but the screen is locked and will not let me back into phone,

Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.
