Why my iPad gets so slow internet speed?

Hi everyone,

I was browsing the web when I noticed that my iPad has a slow internet speed. It's an iPad 3 and here's my speed: ping-16ms, download- 39,49 Mbps and upload-29,71 Mbps but my laptop gets 90.89 Mbps download with a poor cable and 50-51 on wifi and pc 95+ with same poor cable and with good cable 97-100 Mbps.

Please let me know if you have the same problem or if you find a fix,

well you cant try this;

Go to settings > WiFi > click he blue arrow next to it .

do not touch anything

Go to DNS and erase everything next to it and type the following

8.8.8.8

and go back, switch of WiFi on your Ipad and turn it on again

While in composition mode here in the forum, click the camera icon and select the graphic file containing the screen shot.

The closer to the router the better if the router is a couple rooms away what will happen is the signal has to pass though the wall the signal gets weaker and you get less bars

In closer than 1 foot to the router, I'm just thinking: is that max iPad wifi speed? Maybe it doesn't support more speed than 40mb. Thank you anyway

That was yesterday, now it's: ping-17ms download:39.50 and upload 30.51.

P.S Don't be jealous, come here (in Europe) and I'll give you my wifi password so you can enjoy it. (Lol)

I wish I would have taken a screen shot of my speed before and after. That fix worked great. I have Ipad 3 and airport extreme. My macbook pro was getting 30mb d/l and my Ipad was getting 7mb. I switched the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and reconnected and the next speed test was 30.3mb on the Ipad! streaming video at HD now with no interuptions. Thanks for the screen shots and fix shanoof.

@shanoof: I LOVE You! i just got an Ipad air 2 yesterday. Never used any previous versions. Was having the slow internet issue and no app with video was working and neither any websites opening. Went painstakingly thru to so many answers in the forums. Tried so many different things. Then stumbled on your post. Followed it and Abra cadabra! Worked literally like magic.
