How to ignore software updates for 10.8?

... gives great instructions for OS 10.3-10.7, but how do I ignore software updates for 10.8, which uses the Mac App Store?

Right-clicking the item does not give a context menu that allows ignoring and there is nothing in the menu that allows the old "Ignore" functionality.

In the Mac App Store, right click on the update and click "Hide Update."

Unfortunately, this is not a solution. Not only does the "Hide Update" option not always appear when right-clicking, but even more frequently it has zero effect when selected.
