How can I find the Jam Packs and garage band folders in Mainstage 2?

Hello,

I'm finding hard to find the Jam Packs and garage band folders in Mainstage 2? They sometime appear in the patch list and sometimes not. I've checked my "preferences" and they've all been installed..

On the other hand, I find them automatically when I use Logic. It appears in the media list :/

I'm confused..Has anyone had this problem?

Hi L. Moon!

I have a couple of articles here that can help you with your questions about MainStage. The first article most directly addresses your question, and can be found here:

MainStage 2: How to use Apple Loops with MainStage

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4585

That article should help you get your information from GarageBand and Logic into MainStage. It's possible that this article could help address other aspects of your question as well:

Hi, thanks for replying so quick!

The problem is not the loops but all the different plug-ins (sounds) that are in the Jam Packs that I can't find..Sorry if I didn't explain it properly.

For example,

when I create a new patch by clicking on the "+" on the top left hand side. A series of plugins (strings, horns..) are offered to me but no signs of the Jam Packs folders..

On the other hand, I've just been fiddeling around yesterday eve and discovered that after adding a patch (by clicking "+" on the top left side), and then by adding a channel strip ("+" which appears on the top right -> software instrument).. the Jam Packs appear..So I think I'm going to continue doing it like that.

Thanks so much for getting back to me,

Lauren

L.,

This is the other article that might be able to help you a little, and it deals with plug-ins from Logic:
