How do I get my macbook to ignore a wifi network?

My macbook wants to choose a wifi network that is not connected (old network) whenever it comes back from sleeping. I have moved the bad wifi down to the bottom of the list but it still wants to use it. It is easy to tell the iPad and iPhone to ignore a network. How do I tell the MacBook?

MacBook Pro, iOS 6.1.4

Click the AirPort icon in the status menu bar top right side of your screen.

Frm the drop down menu control click the old network name then deselect: Remeember this network

If you don't see the AirPort icon in the menu bar, open System Preferences > Network.

Select Wi-Fi on nthe left then select the box next to: Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar
