    Are you using iCloud?

No, I am not using iCloud

Are you using any other online service, or are your contacts in 'On My Mac'

No I am not using any online services. My contacts are in my ms outlook contacts. They don't sync with my MAC address book or with my iPhone. It was working well and recently I tried to sync my phone and lost all the contacts from the phone.

Wait a minute, if your Contacts are in Outlooks personal folders they never would have synchronized with your iPhone (that requires an online service such as Google or iCloud)

I can't make sense of what you are saying.

Which account (in Outlook) are they in.

I have around 3800 contacts in my Microsoft Outlook while iCloud has only 1400 contacts. So they do not sync at all. I don't use any other online services.

MS Outlook for Mac will not sync with iCloud, that's it.

But here you claim not to be using iCloud.

Or any online services for that matter.

    Can you understand the confusion?

But it was working well before, how come it got messed up without any changes....iCloud was working properly, I had all the 3800 contacts on the phone and suddenly they went missing. I don't use any other online service but iCloud

OK, but just as an FYI

Outlook for Mac has never been capable of syncing with iCloud, Microsofts decision.
