Q: Internet connectivity - but it must be the Mac

Hello!

I dont know if anyone can help me get to the bottom of my problem.

I have an imac, running Mac OSX 10.6.8 ( so not the latest technology).  I have a Netgear Wireless N300 Modem Router. Everything seems hunkdory, and then, like this morning, all of a sudden I have no internet connection.  Thinking it might me my not so good ISP I tried shutting down both desktop and router and restarting. I had a problem with exiting Mail, but resolved that and shut down the computer twice and restarted. Finally it semed to connect again. And then down it went again. I wondered if it was the router- but we have two ipads here and they were both working just fine from the router connectivity. So it must be the Mac.

Any suggestions as to why this happens and what I can do to sort it out? I am not tekkie btw, so any asistance in simple a= apple language would be much appreciated!

Many thanks

iMac
