How can I install Office Mac 2004 on my Mac mini? I have the disc, but no optical drive. Microsoft doesn't offer a download.

Or would you recommend that I just pay for the Office 2011 version? As we're a student family, we're trying to save money where possible. Thank you!

Yes, purchase Office 2011. 2004 does not run on Lion or above

Office 2004 for Mac is a version of Microsoft Office developed for Mac OS X operating system. The software was originally written for the PowerPC Macs, so Macs with Intel CPUs must run the program under Mac OS X's Rosettaemulation layer. For this reason, it is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.7 and newer.

I can verify that since it stopped when I updated to Lion
