Q: icloud no extra music copacity

I purchased 20gb of extra capacity and when syncing my phone it says I need more space, yet on the phone it reads out 24.5 of 25gb is only used. can this room not be used for music too? if so what am I doing wrong?

iPhone 4, iOS 6.1.1

Purchasing more space in your iCloud account doesn't free up space on your phone. The on way you can use iCloud to do that is to subscribe to iTunes Match. If you do, you can then access your iTunes music library from iCloud without having to store it on your phone. See http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/.
