How do we take the Sim card out of an Iphone 4s?

I keep getting a message saying Sim Card error or not instuled on my Iphone 4s. Ive had my Iphone for about a year and this has never happened to me before howver now its doing it about once or twice a day. What should i do? Should i take the sim card out if so how?
