iPhone 4S Unable to Detect Any WIFI Networks!!!!!

Same here, 4s working perfectly, downloaded update 7.0.3 Now no wifi or bluetooth or hotspot. Control on/off icons are muted in colour and don't respond. Tried resetting network connections then total restore, didn't work so still have the same problems as before.

This may be a hardware malfunction, try the troubleshooting steps listed in the articles above and when it´s not help, claim your warranty and get a repair or a replacement.

It could be this esay. I did not think thats a problem with the iOS, i think theres maybe an issue about this WiFi module build in the 4s

1. Turn off iPhone

2. Restart router

3. Settings>WIFI>other

4 enter Wifi name and security type, if you dont know the security try one by one

5. Enjoy Wifi

I had the same issue, but found that by removing the space that i had in the wording of my "router name" fixed the problem...

Guys the Freezer thing worked with me!

i was terrified but tried - 6 min, all turned off, phone in a ziplock bag then I restared the phone and it picked up my wireless rigt away!!!

Look I realize we all think that the idea of putting the iPhone in the freezer is absolutely crazy, but absolutely NONE of the other steps worked to get my iPhone to recognize any WIFI networks.

I think if you look up the specs on iPhone 4S you'll find:

Operating temperature: 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)

Nonoperating temperature: −4° to 113° F (−20° to 45° C)

6 minutes in your freezer is at best likely to get the thing to 32°F or a little less. I think a really good freezer can get down to about 5°-10°F , but -4°F not likely. So if the phone is off (and I suspect in Yousif's recommendation it doesn't matter if it's on or off so I'd try off first) you should be pretty safe. I actually kept mine on and put it in sleep mode, but for those of you less brave you can just turn the darn thing off. I doubt it matters.

Now oddly enough this actually worked!!!!!

The question is why? I'm guessing that in some cases there may in fact be a hardware issue in which the cold temperature causes the machine to reset mechanically/electronically but not from a software perspective (which is why the network reset may not have worked). Components that may have over heated when cooled down contract a little and conduction between electronic parts perhaps improves. Once re-established will it continue working? Who knows? Be nice to get an actual APPLE perspective on this.

I think we all know that when our phone overheats that cooling it down can get it to work again. This is pretty well documented and I'll bet that some of us even stuck the darn thing in the freezer or put it on ice because it was taking so loooooooong to cool off. Is it really so far fetched to believe that there is a lesser level of overheating that doesn't shut the phone down, but will shut the WIFI down until it's reset with a cool blast. Perhaps even just being turned off WITHOUT being in the charger will do the trick, but it may take a lot looooooooonger (my guess a few hours or more can you live without your phone for that long?). If so, perhaps you might have someone open the phone and clean it out to make sure there isn't some lint or dust causing it to heat up a little more than it might otherwise do.

Just a thought. Yousif it would be nice if you shared where you got this idea? or reported whether the problem ever recurred after your last deep freeze.

Freezer for 10 minutes worked for me!!!!!

I turned off wifi and bluetooth left it in the freezer for 10 minutes.

When i took it out the battery was temporarily dead, plugged it in. After 5 minutes it turned back on.

I clicked on the wifi and to my amazement after 1 year of no wifi IT WORKED!!

Thank you so much! I panicked a little when my iphone suddenly cannot DETECT any wifi network. My laptop was doing fine but my iphone wasn't. I was kind of desperate because I did everything that I could possibly do and it still didn't work. So I decided to do this.

I placed my phone in a thin plastic and placed it on the freezer. At first I turned it off and left it there for around 6 minutes. When I took it out it still didn't work. Again, I panicked. But then I tried it again. This time I just turned the wifi off but I didn't turn my phone off. I left it for 10 minutes. When I took it out and tried it once more it was already working! I'm so happy! 🙂

At first, I really thought Yousif was trolling, but then I saw people replying that it works so I decided to give it a try. IT WORKED!!!! I spent so much time researching, trying to turn off my phone, restarted it, reset network settings, etc.. nothing worked.. but throwing it into the freezer for 10 minutes totally worked! I did what you said - I just turned off my wifi and kept my phone on. 🙂 Thanks so much!

I had no wifi detection for over a week. I Put my phone in a ziplock with the phone on and the wifi and bluetooth off. Put it in the freezer for 20 min. Took it out and the phone rebooted and shut off...and the battery was showing dead too. Gave it 5 min. And turned it on. Wifi connections were all there and I connected to my home wifi. Amazing trick! Yes people it really does work no BS!!!

I Jz put my iphone 4s in freezer for 10-15 mins and let it warm to room temperature and open again.. Finally my wifi is working!

Same problem here.

After using my gps function almost 4 hours the phone was really hot but dint see any thing wrong with that.

But a few hours later i found out I had no Wifi, the buttons where there could switch it off and on but not 1 access point.

So before going to the store gave the 10 mins freezer fix a try and **** it works again and even after a day its still ok.

+1 for the freezer fix.
