my ipad has a virus or malware

My ipad this morning had about 10 web pages open - from my history mainly. An email had been sent from my account, an update had been put on facebook page and a purchase made on my Amazon account. I've done all the security things with my accounts and bank from another computer but does anyone know whats happening and how to fix it?

It is unlikely that your iPad has a virus as there are currently no known viruses that affect unjailbroken iPads. What is more likely is that someone either gained physical access to your iPad and/or knows passwords for your various accounts.

Sounds as if you've done the right things in changing your various passcodes. You may want to also add a passcode to your iPad in case it's a question of someone getting access to it.

Best of luck.

That's what I thought too but it certainly looks like someone has remotely accessed the ipad. No physical access as it was overnight in locked house with only me and my partner there. The fact that the webpages were all open in tabs on my browser and a few of them were open to google with random letters typed in a search doesn't fit with someone accessing just my accounts. If it was just odd activity on my email or my Amazon account i would think someone hacked my password for those. I'm baffled. Will try calling Apple support tonight as I have Applecare but if anyone else has any further ideas that would be great.

no known viruses... since a few days when i start reading a book or writing a letter on my beloved ipad, at a certain moment it all goes mad! zoom in-zoom out on it's own, letters jumping off the page, i swear it looks possessed. I have followed all the steps to restore factory settings, back up... now it's so bad that when i try to start it up from scratch it will jump to a remote language, like japanese or russian, won't allow me to set it up in english.

when i try to type (ask for an anti virus app!) one touch of the screen looks like this: gggggghuhkolllllll;;;;;liiiiiiiiiiikjuytrs.

If it looks and acts like a virus, it may just be one....

taking it to the store tomorrow. any suggestions?

My ipad also does strange things on its own. At night I keep it next to my bed and if I place my phone around it or on top of it, ipad comes alive and starts typing or opening browsers. I can hear it typing. Last night it sent an email to someone in my address book but someone whom I rarely, if ever, email.

The subject line was:Wwyjurwtre

And the body contained one letter - P

What the heck? BTW, I do not have an iphone, just an old fashioned Pantech slider phone.

Anyone have any ideas and no, I have never "jailbroken" it.
