hi i lost lost my iphone yesterday. so i want to ask can i track it

Unless you had Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone enabled on it then there isn't any way to try and locate it. If you did have it enabled then you could try locating it either via http://www.icloud.com on a computer or Find iPhone app on another iOS device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the phone hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.

If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and contact your carrier.

what about if my phone is switch off would i be able to find or not

If it's not connected to a network then no, it needs to be online
