I have tried everything from 1 to 7 on my macbook pro but still the unknown error could not be found. But there is always new error comes sometimes 1429 or 1430 or the device could not be mounted.

See if you can find a window PC and do a restore there.

Once its done, reconnect with your Mac and redo the RESTORE
