Help with mail.app ??

I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on an Intel iMac desktop

Tried to move Mail over in the dock and it hit the desktop & Poof! - gone ..

I looked in the App folder, and the Mail Icon changed to a ruler, brush & pen ,,,

I put it back in the dock ... and now, it doesn't work .......

The Stamp Icon has been replaced with the ruler, brush & pen Icon ????

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Tried Disk Utility .... NO HELP

If repairing permissions and restarting your computer does not restore the Mail icon, you can custom install Mail from your system DVD that originally came w/your computer by following the onscreen instructions.

The Mail app should be either inside the Bundled Software folder or the Application folder.
