I hace iMac 2009, running 10.8.4
I understand that with newer iMacs you can now mirror your desktop to Apple TV. Is there a way, an add on, an app, something, that will enable older iMas like mine to enable it to be mirrored to my Apple TV (Black box)?

AirPlay Mirroring isn't supported in your iMac > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404
However, you can use a third-party app to mirror the Mac onto the Apple TV. You can use different applications like AirParrot or Beamer that work as AirPlay Mirroring with supported Macs

Anyone used Airparrot successfully? With full sound working and all.
Results will vary when using 3rd party software, best to use the trial and see if it works for you.
Hi accentontheoff. Note that, if you have a newer MacOS, with AirPlay built-in, apps like AirParrot may cause it not to work.
I have an old iMac, late 2009. Bought Airparrot will be trying it out. Let's see how it goes.
