Adobe Acrobat Pro XI returns "Internal Error Occurred"

Adobe Acrobat Pro XI will not start up on a new MBP running OS 10.8.4. It keeps returning an error message that states "Internal Error Has Occurred." I get the same with Adobe Reader on the same machine. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, repairing permissions, updating using Adobe updater - nothing changes.


Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)
