where is the list of hyphenated words located in mac os x

I would like to create a list of words in Armenian for auto-hyphenation. Is there a way I can create this list and install it where the English hyphenated word list is installed, so that any word processor can auto-hyphenate an Armenian text?

After collecting the words and making the word bank, I need to know:

1. How to create the hyphen? whether by inserting hard hyphen? or soft hyphen? or some other character that Mac OS X will interpret it as auto-hyphen sign.

2. What format should I save this list? RTF, textonly, etc.

3. Where should I install this file?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You should have a look at system/library/linguisticdata/en/us/hyphenation.dat

Thank you Tom for the help. Alas! I couldn't find this file neither in Macintosh HD System nor Home system. I tried to copy and paste the whole line in the searching box and it wasn't found. Any suggestions? By the way I am using MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8.

Thanks Tom, I found it. I opened it, just to look at it. Do you know what the difference is between those numbers in the middle or at the end of a word? I mean, there are 4, 1, 3, 2, 5, etc. Are the numbers for hyphenation? Also I noticed a dot in front of a word! Any suggestions?

PS Some word processors, in particular MS Word, have their own systems for this and make no use of the stuff provided with OS X by Apple.

For the time being it's fine. I am not using MS Word, I use Nisus Writer Pro, QuarkXpress, TextEdit, Pages, etc. Once I know what those numbers represent, and whether I should add a dot at the beginning of a word, I will have much progress.
