How do I create a Live Link to a telephone number in Pages > ePub

My goal is to export a Pages document to an ePub with telephone numbers that coworkers can tap to call. Any ideas anyone?

I have created an internal Help document in Pages that will be exported to an ePub. The Help document contains telephone phone numbers that the reader should be able to click to dial. But there is not an option in Pages Inspector to create a live link to a telephone number. If tel:1-123-456-7890 is entered as a URL link -- Pages inserts http:// in front, making the phone number not usable. If I simply enter the telephone number -- it also is **not** converted to a live link (clickable) when exported to an ePub.

I've spent several hours searching the Internet and forums -- and just don't see a method. If I missed a discussion, please help by posting a link or the search words to find. Much appreciated!!!!!
