on my non-jailbroken iphone 4 on newest update(as of 7-9-2013) i am unable to open the stock email app nor am i able to open my Email,Contacts,Calanders in the Settings. when i attempt to open any of those the app just crashes and closes back to the homescreen

next issue is i am not getting any notifications at all. messaging email nothing

when i attempt to open the Notifications under settings it take up to 5 min for it to show the apps (which are active) and all the settings are how they should be to get and receive all notifications. i have had the same iphone for 2 years and am pretty good at iphone repairs and fixing of bugs

ive done it all. update, restore, resets, soft resets, sync.....what am i missing??!?!?

When you did your restore, did you restore from a backup, or did you restore as a new device? If you restored as a new device and entered the email accounts from scratch and they are still not working, then it sounds as if you have a defective device. If, however, you restored from a backup, it is very possible you have a corrupt file in the backup and that is causing the issues. Restoring from a backup is just putting the corrupt file back on the phone and will never let it fix.

That is correct. A restore as new will delete everything from the phone. However, if you have synced calendar and contacts to a supported application on the computer or iCloud you can sync them back. You can sync music and other iTunes content back from iTunes. Photos from the Camera Roll will need to be imported to the computer to be saved. SMS/MMS/iMessage history will not be saved and there will be no way to recover that, since it is only saved in the backup.
