Restore without charger?

Restore without charger?

Hi,
I'm currently in Italy, my sister and I restored my ipod and we then find out that we need to connect it to the charger.
Since I'm on vacation, I left my charger at home in New York. Is there another way of keep going with the process without the charger? Or a way to make believe the ipod is connected to the charger?

Hello,

It needs a sufficient power to complete the Restore process, therefore, you are asked to plug your iPod with a Charger. You can try the following

1. Borrow a charger from a shop for a favour
2. Find a iPod charger will work
3. I am not sure as I have not tried myself but please take it as a refencer, I believe that it is worth to have a try

If you have a car adaptor, you can also use that to charge the iPod. Additionally, a FireWire connection can be used for this purpose if you have access to a compatible FireWire cable and a computer with a 6-pin FireWire port.

Just completed a restore myself without the charger. Connected the cord to my iBook and quickly "disconnected" it from the USB (as though I was ejecting it). Took a while, but after a reset from me and a charge, the restore was complete. Hope that helps you.
