What happens if the credit card expires and hasn't been renewed will a purchase get through or will be denied installation?

    I still had an expired cc on my itunes account and it let me "purchase" and download the app, but now i am not allowed to use the app! It syncs to an online community (livestrong.org) and I get an error making the app unusable. The app is not showing as purchased on my other devices.
