Are bans permanent?
I don't know why I got banned from support communities. It just says I was banned.
My account had over 200 points and I don't want to lose them OR my support communities account :(

So you created another account......
Your question can only be answered by the host(s) (Apple employees) who banned you. We are users like you.
Only you know the reason for the ban as all your previous posts appear to have gone. As Babowa writes, only the hosts can quantify the length of the ban.
But, as Babowa didn't mention it, I will report your post to the hosts and draw it to their attention. With luck, someone will write back to you and confirm the current situation.

The usual reason for a ban would be a violation of the Terms of Use, to that you agreed when you joined the Apple Support Communities. If you think about your recent posts, is there anything that might have been considered out of bounds?
Only one of the Communities Hosts could address your question. I have tried to attract their attention to your thread and asked them to contact you.
Regards.

I believe that makes it at least four attempts.....
I don't think I posted anything that was violating the ToS. I don't remember ever doing so.
Also I'm still banned.
Does anyone know how long bans last? I've never been banned before :(
We've called your post to the hosts' attention; it is up to them to contact you; we are just users like yourself and do not know what Apple's policies are in regards to bans.
Sometimes bans are temporary, sometimes permanent. Did the email wording give any clues?
What was your username that was banned?
I'm sorry this is SUPER SUPER late and I'm basically just bumping this super old question. I was RyanDolan123 before. I never received any emails about the ban. I am still not unbanned. *sigh*. Guess I'll just have to use this one 😟
At the risk of upsetting them, I have contacted the hosts again. They really are very good most of the time and while we may not hear what happened they should be contacting you directly. As I told them ... we are all agog and waiting to hear.
I'm not all agog nor even just agog.
I suspect you know something we don't know. 😉
Interesting, your original profile is still here see https://discussions.apple.com/profile/RyanDolan123?view=profile
Email banning someone usually (always?) has the reason, are you saying the email you got just said"Hi, You are banned, bye"?
Looking at some of your last posts nothing looks out of whack. I suppose you have tried logging in to you old account, what message do you get when you try?
I reported your situataion using the old account name, see if that helps any.
