PC doesn't recognize iphone 5, did initially

I do have the latest versions on my computer, USB is version 2.0. The computer does not recognize the iphone, although charging works. I've performed any hint i've been ablke to find in the net. who can help?

I would recommend trying all steps in the article below. First, start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > (Windows OS) > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

Also, try alternate USB ports and disable any security software installed.
