I have 2 Airport Express hooked up to Ethernet cables linked to Uverse set top boxes. What is the best set up in airport utility to maintain my Internet speed

My Internet provider is Uverse. I have 2 AEs in attempt to extend my network, but it tends to slow my network speed to much to use. I'm going to attempt to connect them both to the Ethernet via uverse digital cable boxes. How should I configure this in Airport Utilities on my MAC to get the best results?

iOS 6.1.4

Hi there thingle!

I have a couple of articles for you that should help you set up this network and optimize it. First, if you are using a password protected Wi-Fi network, you will want to use the WPA2 security protocol for the best speed results. The reasons for this are explained in this article:

AirPort: Slow 802.11n connection speed when connected using older WEP or WPA security mechanisms

You will also want to reference this article for the basic router settings that will be best for usage with your iOS and OS X devices:

iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

I also have one more article for you that will help you set up multiple routers for use as one network:

Wi-Fi base stations: Setting up and configuring a roaming network (802.11 a/b/g/n)
